Random

We've had lots of laughs here at the Den-these girls come up with some of the funniest stuff. Wish I had time to write it down or remember what they said when I am actually at a place where I can write it down!

Like tonite, for instance; I was getting Stella out of the tub and just started asking her a bunch of questions like "what's your name", "who are your sisters", "when is your birthday"? Then I asked her what state she lived in and she answered "Minnesota". "Nope" I said, "grandma Luci lives in Minnesota, we live in Iowa." Stella looked at me all puzzled then said, "mom, we live in a house, not Iowa!"

So the randomness continues here in Iowa...but these photos were too cute not to share!

Thanks Grandma Luci for the Halloween package!!

He's on the move!

I SWEAR, I just took down those baby gates!! Looks like it's about time to start dusting them off again. Although it's not a full fledged crawl, Rowan has been army crawling...or doing the worm...for over two weeks now....and he's fast. He's quick to move from sitting to crawling and has recently mastered moving from crawling to sitting. Here he is on the move.

He's always happy and has the best giggle!

He's fluent with mama and dada and has started to make and repeat various sounds. His favorite right now is to suck in air to make high pitched sounds, then he smiles REALLY big. He's also fascinated with banging things, head butting and pushing things all over, especially if he can crawl after them.

He's got two bottom teeth and working on the third-a top tooth. We've been practicing drinking from a sippy cup and trying "big people food"...so far bread and pancakes are a go! Oh, and we must, must have a snack (dried yogurt bites are his favorite) if his sisters are having a snack or else we give mommy the pouty lip. He had his 6/8 month check up the other day and not much changed in the last couple of weeks; weighed in at 20 lbs 14 oz...but that's still a lot for me to lug around!

He's growing so fast!!

Halloween

We took the kids trick-or-treating in Ian's hometown of Lowden this year. Something new for us since our "Mt. Mercy" connections (Sarah and Mallory) graduated last spring. We spent the day with Gramme and Grandpa Fox then stopped to visit with Ian's grandparents before hitting the streets. We didn't visit many houses, but we have more candy than we know what to do with. Here we are all decked out:

Rowan as "Woody the Cowboy"

Abby as "Minnie Mouse"

Zoe as "Ariel" from The Little Mermaid

Stella as "Jessie the Cowgirl"

Mallory and David's Wedding!

Wow!! It was about this time a month ago we were leaving Mal and David's wedding with 4 tuckered out kids! However, a good time was had by all!

So...here's a little bit about that special weekend:

As I've mentioned several times before, we were lucky enough to have had Mallory care for the girls for the last 4 years and honored that she asked them to play a role in her special day-and they were so excited to participate!

Friday afternoon we picked the girls up from school and headed to Dubuque. My parents met us there to help us wrangle the kids (thank goodness for the extra sets of hands and the entertainment!). Later in the evening we participated in the rehearsal and attended the grooms dinner. Despite knowing the girls were to walk down the isle with Mallory's nephew Jackson (and Abby being insistent on the fact that SHE wasn't "going to help him") they all joined hands to walk down the isle together.

Saturday came bright and early! We headed to Mallory's parent's house so that the girls could get their hair done. All I was hoping for were hairdos a step up from everyday frizz...you know, just a braid or something. Zoe was a little hesitant about the whole process initially, but in the end she was so excited because she "looked like Cinderella!" We now had 3 of our very own princesses!

After that we headed to church for some pictures:

Then it was time for the ceremony followed by some bubbles and a ride on the trolley car.

Rowan watching the girls blow bubbles:

Shortly after we started driving, Stella crashed.

So, while the rest of the wedding party was on and off the trolley bar hopping we just hung out.

And finally we ended the night with dinner and the dance (no, not champagne...apple juice)

Abby, are you cutting up Tink for dinner? "I'm trying, but she won't sit still!"

With our other sitter Sarah:

Then it was time to go home.

CONGRATULATIONS Mr. and Mrs. David and Mallory Blondin! Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day-we had a blast! Happy 1 month Anniversary-Love you guys!
