March For Babies-Thank you.

Last weekend, the girls and I, along with Ian's parents, our sitter Sarah and our friends Eric and Barb Lehman (and thier 2 kids) participated in the March of Dimes, "March for Babies". The 'march' consisted of a 8.5 mile walk (tour of Cedar Rapids as I recall). I am proud to report that the Lehman family (and Sarah) did finish the walk. For the Fox family it was a little more of a challenge. First of all, the walk started at 7:30 am, so we had to get the girls up early and fed...which really cramped our schedule. It was also cold that day, so we bundled everyone up, loaded them in the limo stroller and we were off....kinda...I think we stopped every 50 feet to manage somebody. About 2 miles into the walk, Stella and Zoe had enough, so Grammie and Grandpa Fox caught a ride back to the park. Abby was asleep, so I decided to trek a little further....boy was I stupid. I think that we made it about 5 miles, then I was wiped, so we caught a ride back to the park to enjoy the food and see some of our favorite St. Luke's NICU staff. As you can see, we made our own team shirts which consisted of the kids' premie pictures on front and names on back. Barb and I had a blast making them!

Thanks all of you who donated money (on what little notice I gave you) to us for this wonderful cause. Our team raised $1200. That's pretty good for our first go round!
Once again it's a collaborative effort of information to catch everyone up on what's been going on here. In April the girls and I headed to Minnesota for my sister Lindsay's baby shower. It was my first experience traveling such a distance alone with the girls. They were good little travelers. My parents met us in Albert Lea and we ate supper, ran around the truck stop and made a mess. We enjoyed being home and seeing family and playing with cousins Lily and Evie. My sister made a haul at the shower.....so much so, one might have thought she was having triplets :). Here's a picture of Evie, Zoe and Stella...yeah...not fast enough to catch Lily and Abby before they scooted off.....

Thank goodness that weather is finally getting nicer. Hopefully it stays that way so that we can air out the house and get rid of some of this lingering sickness!! We've kept ourselves busy by going on walks and checking out the neighborhood parks on sunny days. We even checked out Ian's cousin Rylea's softball tournament the other weekend (they took first place by the way). The bad thing (for Ian and I) is that now when we cut them loose, they go in 3 different directions. They enjoy swinging, stroller rides and eating the pebbles at the playground. Here we are getting ready to leave and fighting over who gets to push the stroller.

We continue to work on colors and numbers. And have mastered ABC (just those 3 letters, which is usually ABB), and the actions to patty cake. Everyone is attempting to jump, which consists of crouching down and popping up. Sarah and Mallory (our sitters) have been teaching the girls to say 2/use their fingers to show you and how to lay on their belly and roll on the big pink exercise ball. "Nack" time has become a big deal for us especially when their is "cackers" involved. Saying "peez" and "tunk u" is my highlight of this time of day.

Ms. Stella

This girl is crazy these days! She will walk around the basement for hours just rambling...and she can make you believe that whatever toy she's holding is a phone. Her latest thing is to check my mouth for gum anytime I come down the stairs. She also has a total obsession with blowing her nose and loves carrying around a kleenex. She's gotten 4 molars in the last month and has mastered the art of going down the steps. She is working hard on making a 2 with her fingers when you ask how old she's gonna be.
